Lead Early Childhood After School Care Teacher

The Eugene Waldorf School is looking for a Lead Early Childhood After School Care Teacher for our early childhood program for the 2026-27 school year.

We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic, imaginative, nurturing person to join our group of early childhood teachers who oversee the holding of 2.5 to 6 year old children; a creative teacher who speaks to the children in imaginative pictures, who has a connection with nature and who is not averse to rainy weather! We are seeking a teacher who can establish a healthy rhythm with warmth and joy.

Established in 1980, our school has deep roots in the local community and provides a comprehensive Waldorf education to students in preschool through eighth grade. Our four-acre campus is nestled in the southwest hills of Eugene, Oregon which is a vibrant, artistic, and eco-conscious community. Eugene is located at the south end of the Willamette Valley with a rich cultural life and offers an abundance of natural beauty and outdoor recreation in the Pacific Northwest.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the care and supervision of children aged 2.5 to 6 years old.
  • Create imaginative learning experiences using pictures and nature-based concepts.
  • Establish a healthy rhythm with warmth and joy in the after-school setting.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and support parent education efforts.
Qualifications
  • Waldorf teacher training certificate.
  • Lead teaching experience.
  • Additional education: a bachelor’s degree is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collegially.
  • Enthusiasm for fostering children’s development in a nurturing environment.

Anticipated salary range is $40,666 to $43,266 per year, based on education and experience.
