To provide high‑quality instruction that meets learning aims and outcomes for 100‑level Cell Biology and/or 200‑level Anatomy & Physiology courses.
Essential Functions- Effectively teach assigned Cell Biology and/or Anatomy & Physiology courses.
- Engage in collaborative curriculum development and revisions.
- Maintain compliance with College policies: leave time, timesheet, release time, textbook ordering, etc.
- Maintain currency in discipline and innovative teaching practices.
- Participate collegially in faculty performance evaluation.
- Maintain and post office hours in line with College expectations.
- Maintain campus presence for instruction and student needs.
- Manage student records, attendance, grades, and documentation; ensure a safe, quality classroom or lab environment.
- Handle sensitive information with FERPA awareness; maintain confidentiality.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Engage within online course environment for regular and substantive interaction (RSI).
- Monitor student progress; provide coaching and assistance.
- Review and grade all work; provide timely feedback.
- Respond to student inquiries promptly.
- Ensure all materials comply with College technology and accessibility policies.
- Use effective online teaching strategies.
- Demonstrate Lane's core value of social justice; integrate equity and inclusion into instruction.
- Uphold respectful, inclusive communication with all students and staff.
- Assist with ADA compliance and support accessible learning.
- Show concern for students, staff, and community.
Master's degree in biology or closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution.
Alternatively qualified candidates should describe how they meet requirements in cover letter.
Required Qualifications – ExperienceTeaching experience with community college students, online/distance learning, and inclusive classroom practices (preferred).
