Position Purpose

To teach a variety of Human Services courses as assigned, including in‑person and online formats. Instructors will also participate in division and other professional activities, fostering a student‑first learning environment.

Essential Functions Support Student Learning
  • Exhibit compliance with college policies; complete leave time, timesheets, release time and textbook ordering.
  • Sustain currency in discipline and innovation in teaching.
  • Participate collegially in faculty performance evaluation.
  • Maintain and post office hours in alignment with college expectations.
  • Maintain campus presence for instruction and daily needs of students, departments, college and community.
  • Keep accurate student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation; ensure a safe, quality instructional environment.
  • Problem‑solve and manage sensitive information with awareness of FERPA standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Curriculum Delivery
  • Provide high‑quality classroom instruction.
  • Create, develop and revise course content and materials.
  • Establish learning outcomes and assess outcomes using appropriate tools.
  • Incorporate college values and promote a learning environment that includes multicultural and diversity issues.
  • Develop all class syllabi and course materials in a form directly deliverable to students.
  • Confer with students on course materials.
  • Deliver curriculum in traditional and online formats.
Online Teaching and Student Support
  • Engage within the online environment to ensure Regular and Substantive Interaction.
  • Monitor student progress and provide coaching to struggling students.
  • Review and grade all work and provide timely feedback.
  • Respond to student inquiries promptly.
  • Ensure materials meet Section 508 standards.
  • Use effective strategies for teaching online.
