Our Social Science Division is seeking to expand its part-time faculty History pool, both online and in-classroom courses. The primary responsibility of the History Instructor is to provide quality teaching both online and in-classroom in a full range of community college History courses which may include;
Western Civilization, World History, History of the United States, U.S. Women's History; etcetera. Beyond the required education and experience, instructors must have a passion for what they teach and have teaching styles that support student success. Instructors are responsible for following Division and College procedures in support of teaching and learning. This is an application pool posting for academic year .

The assigned location for this position is at the Lane Community College's main campus located in Eugene, Oregon.

Salary/Compensation Statement:
Our application is used to determine the initial salary placement for selected candidates. All employment and education history will be considered. Starting range for part-time faculty is Step 1 – Step 10, see our Part-time Faculty Salary Schedule in our Part-time Faculty Payroll Information section. The Part-time Faculty benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability and paid sick leave.

Part-time faculty may be eligible for full contracted benefits after meeting certain criteria.

Education:

Master's degree in History from a regionally accredited institution.

Required Experience:

Licensure or Certification Requirements

Conditions of Employment:
Successful applicants are required to pass a criminal background check. Infractions do not necessarily disqualify a candidate, and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Graduate coursework in European and Mediterranean History Graduate coursework in United States History Graduate coursework in United States Women's History

Preferred Experience
- Teaching experience with community college student populations.

Experience teaching online

Experience with learning management systems.

Purpose:

To provide high-quality instruction that meets established learning aims and outcomes for students in History courses. Faculty are professional educators with the primary responsibility of providing a quality learning experience for all Lane Community College students. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of the teacher of record and facilitator of learning.
