Position: 2026-27 SY 0.5 - 1.0 FTE Elementary Music Teacher

Bethel School District 52 – Malabon Elementary – Eugene, Oregon – 0.5-1.0 FTE Elementary Music Teacher

Bethel School District is seeking candidates for a 0.5-1.0 FTE Elementary Music Teacher at Malabon Elementary School (exact FTE to be determined). Candidates who are licensed or will have the ability to be licensed by the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission by the start of the  school year are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Possess and maintain an Oregon Teaching License valid for assignment by start of the school year.

  • Pass fingerprinting, criminal, Oregon Department of Education, and TSPC background checks.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, organized, and effective music instruction for elementary students.
  • Create a growth‑mindset culture in the classroom; maintain unconditional positive regard for all students, staff, families, and colleagues.
  • Recognize students’ different needs, abilities, and interests and be flexible to adjust instruction to meet those needs.
  • Fully support and implement Social‑Emotional Learning; encourage students to build self‑awareness, self‑management, and relationship skills.
  • Use data to inform instructional decisions.
  • Connect well with students, families, and the school community; be open to learning about others, especially those who may be different.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
  • Incorporate feedback and professional learning into teaching practices.
  • Maintain collaborative and collegial relationships with building and district staff.
  • Participate eagerly in opportunities to learn, show a strong willingness to grow, and maintain an interest in improving.

Selection Factors
  • Knowledge of educational programs offered in all schools and of basic educational techniques required by the position.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Oregon Teaching License valid for assignment by start of the school year.
