Department SummaryThe College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is the intellectual hub ofthe University of Oregon, serving nearly two-thirds of all students. The Creative Writing Program at the University of Oregon offersboth a minor in creative writing and a Master of Fine Arts. The Program emphasizes the workshop and integrating concentrated timefor writing with craft seminars. Undergraduate offerings within the Creative Writing Program also include the Kidd Tutorial Program, aunique studio experience that emphasizes literary analysis inpoetry and prose fiction, craft-related topics of concern to the college-level creative writer, and an engagement with the rigorouscritical discourse.
PositionSummary
The Creative Writing Program at the University of Oregon seeks to establish a pool of qualified candidates interested in Pro Tem Instructor positions. Depending on departmental needs and candidate qualifications, Pro Tem Instructors may teach lower or upperdivision undergraduate courses, as well as some graduate courses.
Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years, based on programmatic need,funding, and performance. Screening of applications will take placeas positions become available and continue until positions arefilled.
Minimum Requirements- MFA or MA in creative writing.
- One (1) year post-secondary instructional experience.
- Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to contribute to institutional diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
