The City of Eugene is seeking a skilled structural engineer to serve as a Structural Plans Examiner, contributing directly to public safety and the resilient growth of our community. In this position, you will review and evaluate complex structural designs for commercial, industrial, and multi‑family projects to ensure compliance with the Oregon Structural Specialty Code. Using our eBuild electronic review system, you will analyze structural calculations, apply advanced engineering principles, and work closely with architects, engineers, builders, and fellow plan reviewers to support safe and innovative solutions.
You will also assist City inspectors in the field by observing construction, verifying compliance with approved plans, and helping address structural challenges through sound engineering judgment.
