Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Eugene, Oregon. This role is ideal for someone with a keen attention to detail and expertise in non-profit accounting and financial reporting. You will play a key role in supporting audits, preparing tax documentation, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities:

- Manage month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

- Prepare and post journal entries to support financial transactions.

- Oversee fund accounting activities for non-profit operations, ensuring proper allocation of resources.

- Assist in annual audit preparation by compiling necessary documentation and addressing auditor inquiries.

- Update and manage budget information using Quick Books Online, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organizational goals.

- Generate detailed financial reports using Microsoft Excel to support decision-making processes.

- Provide tax-related information, including 990 documentation, to relevant stakeholders.

- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth financial operations and compliance. Requirements

- Proven experience in month-end close procedures and general ledger maintenance.

- Strong understanding of journal entries and their impact on financial reporting.

- Demonstrated expertise in fund accounting, particularly for non-profit organizations.

- Familiarity with auditing processes and requirements.

- Proficiency in Quick Books Online for budget management and financial tracking.

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including report generation and data analysis.

- Knowledge of 501(c)(3) regulations and 990 tax documentation.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently within a contract role
