Staff Accountant – Project Coordinator 2

Location: Main Campus, Eugene, OR
Classification: Project Coordinator 2 – Full‑Time, Classified, Permanent
Salary: $34.17–$50.11 per hour ($71,070–$104,226 annual approximate).

Position PurposeThis role supports operational efficiency and security for the college’s financial activities, processing transactions, designing process flows, and providing daily support to multiple departments.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities)- Develop and administer project budget and capital outlay requests.
- Establish procedures, set priorities, and direct overall project operations.
- Write and monitor contracts with subcontractors.
- Evaluate staffing needs and screen applicants for positions.
- Plan, schedule, assign, train, and evaluate staff.
- Monitor project compliance with applicable laws, policies and regulations.
- Recommend changes in college procedures and policies.
- Prepare and submit timely budget and progress reports.
- Assist staff with financial reporting and internal controls.
- Act as liaison and advocate for the project with college departments and external agencies.
- Provide technical assistance to staff and outside agencies.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with FERPA standards.
- Bachelor’s degree with coursework in accounting, finance or a related field.
- Eight (8) years of accounting/finance experience, including at least three (3) years in a progressively increasing project management role.
- Successful candidate must pass a criminal background check.
- Must reside in Oregon and work on campus.
- Experience with GAAP or IFRS, and GASB reporting rules.
- Experience in a community college setting.
- Experience managing financial reporting and complex software systems, preferably Banner ERP.
- Advanced spreadsheet, database and data‑extract skills.
- Familiarity with internal controls and separation of duties.
