Salary/Wage Range: $22.78 - $33.40 Hourly (Classified Salary Level 10)
Salary/Compensation Statement:
- Hourly wage reflects an approximate annual salary of $47,378 - $69,481
- Lane's robust Benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental, and vision insurance, basic term life insurance, long-term disability, vacation leave, personal time, and paid sick leave.
- New employees may not be placed on the salary schedule higher than any current employee in this Classification with the same or greater number of years of relevant experience.
- Lane Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program
. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan. Questions regarding your loan eligibility should be directed to your loan servicer or to the US Department of Education

Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
Required Experience:
One (1) year of law enforcement or security experience. This experience must involve working in an environment where human relations, interpersonal and problem-solving skills are used.
- A current and valid Oregon driver's license.
- Current first aid/
CPR
/
AED card.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and meet the standards of ORS 181.875 regarding criminal history.
- Ability to pass a psychology evaluation designed for police officers.
- Ability to pass a completed medical examination indicating the ability to complete the physical elements of the classification description.
- Must not have been convicted of a felony or any crime involving false statements or dishonesty within the last 15 years.
- Must meet the Oregon state-level requirements as a public safety officer within one (1) month of hire.
- Lane employees must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed.
Post-secondary education (including but not limited to), Public Safety, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Crime Scene Investigation, Legal Studies, Law School, Forensic Science, Police Academy, Sheriff Academy, and EMT license.
Preferred ExperienceExtensive experience in law enforcement or security that involves working substantially in an environment where human relations, interpersonal and problem-solving skills are used.
