Medical Billing Specialist

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Eugene, Oregon. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing insurance claims, ensuring accurate billing, and maintaining compliance with Medicare and other insurance standards.

Responsibilities:

- Process and follow up on denied insurance claims to ensure timely resolution.

- Verify and update insurance information for accuracy and compliance.

- Manage Medicare billing processes while handling limited amounts of other insurance claims.

- Utilize electronic health record systems to monitor and document billing activities.

- Collaborate with team members to maintain accurate records and streamline billing workflows.

- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance requirements.

- Perform data entry and analysis using Microsoft Excel to support billing operations.

- Communicate with insurance providers to address discrepancies and secure payments.

- Maintain organized documentation and records to facilitate audits and reporting.

Requirements

- Proven experience in medical billing, particularly with Medicare claims.

- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems

- Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data entry and analysis.

- Ability to manage and resolve denied claims effectively.

- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and insurance practices.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Strong communication skills for interacting with insurance providers and team members.
