Responsible for applying and removing casts and splints as directed by physician.
RequirementsEducation and Experience
- registered orthopedic technician, certified orthopedic technician, or similar educational training/background preferable
- Applies and removes casts and splints for orthopedic patients as directed by a provider.
- Removes sutures and stitches from incisions
- Assists with simple wound care and wound vacs as trained
- Evaluates potential new equipment and processes
- Cross trains in other areas and assists with other medical duties as appropriate
- Documents patient care through the Nextgen EMR System.
