Department Information
Our Health Professions Department is seeking to expand its pool of part-time faculty to teach Respiratory Care.
- Beyond the required education and experience, instructors must have a passion for what they teach and have teaching styles that support student success. Instructors are responsible for following Division and College procedures in support of teaching and learning.
- This is an application pool posting for . The assigned location for this position is at the Lane Community College’s main campus located in Eugene, Oregon.

Benefits- Our application is used to determine the initial salary placement for selected candidates. All employment and education history will be considered.
- The Part-time Faculty benefits package includes a generous contribution toward medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, and paid sick leave. Part-time faculty may be eligible for full contracted benefits after meeting certain criteria.
- Classes as assigned by the Division Dean based on need, enrollment, and availability of contracted and/or more senior part-time faculty.
- Intermittent during the LCC Academic Year. May work evenings and weekends.
- Advanced degree, specialized training, or relevant experience in a related discipline (e.g. physician, pharmacist, pulmonary function technologist, EEG technologist).
Option 1:
- Minimum three (3) years of professional experience as a Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT ).
OR
Option 2:
- Must have substantial experience in a related discipline and can demonstrate adequate knowledge, skills, and competence on the areas of instruction.
Option 1:
- Current, unencumbered Oregon Respiratory Therapist License, AND
- Must hold a minimum NBRC RRT credential.
OR Option 2:
- A current, unencumbered alternative credential in a related discipline (e.g. physician, pharmacist, pulmonary function technologist, EEG technologist).
- Successful applicants are required to complete a criminal background check. Infractions do not necessarily disqualify a candidate, and will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. See our FAQs for more detail.
- Must work and reside in the state of Oregon at the time their work is being performed.
- Employment recommendation is contingent upon meeting clinical compliance of:
- Drug screen
- Immunizations
- AHA CPR
- Employer-Provided Online OSHA Trainings
- Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Care.
- ACLS , PALS and/or NRP Instructor certifications.
- Experience in Teaching or as a Preceptor in Respiratory Care.
- Experience in Critical Care, Emergency, ICU / PICU / NICU , Long-term care, Sleep Medicine, Pulmonary Function Testing, Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Transport, or Diagnostic Bronchoscopy.
- Experience teaching adults in a community college or community education setting.
