We are looking for an experienced Payroll Clerk in Eugene, Oregon. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. The role offers the opportunity to work closely with HR leadership and contribute to the smooth operation of payroll functions for a diverse workforce.
Responsibilities:
- Manage semi-monthly payroll processes for up to 250 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
- Collaborate with the HR manager to address payroll-related inquiries and oversee payroll operations.
- Process payroll adjustments, including garnishments, benefit deductions, final checks, and pay increases.
- Handle payroll for hourly, salaried, and union employees, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
- Assist in preparing and verifying payroll reports using ADP Workforce Now.
- Ensure proper documentation and adherence to union guidelines for Oregon-based employees.
- Coordinate with the payroll supervisor to facilitate knowledge transfer and provide support during their transition.
- Maintain confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll activities.
- Troubleshoot payroll discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
Requirements - Minimum of 2 years' experience in payroll processing, preferably with full-cycle payroll handling.
- Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now or similar payroll systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll procedures, including garnishments and benefit deductions.
- Ability to work with semi-monthly payroll schedules and meet strict deadlines.
- Familiarity with union payroll regulations and compliance requirements.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with employees and HR leadership.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
