Northlight Counseling LLC is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day people operations in Eugene, OR in an onsite office setting. Reporting to the COO, this role also supervises the HR Coordinator and helps ensure HR services run smoothly across employee relations, payroll, recruitment, compliance, and employee experience.

In this position, you will act as a trusted HR partner to team members, managers, and leadership, providing guidance on workplace expectations, supporting investigations and performance processes, and helping align HR practices with applicable employment law.

What you will do
  • Serve as an HR resource for team members, managers, and leadership.
  • Support managers with performance concerns, including documentation, employee communication, and workplace expectations.
  • Assist with workplace investigations, corrective action, performance improvement plans, and resolution of employee concerns.
  • Oversee payroll processes to help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Review employee changes, pay adjustments, PTO usage, deductions, and other payroll information.
  • Investigate payroll questions and discrepancies and coordinate with payroll systems, vendors, and internal partners as needed.
  • Partner with leadership and managers to identify hiring needs and recruitment priorities.
  • Lead candidate screening and interviews, providing selection recommendations.
  • Develop, maintain, and interpret HR policies and procedures.
  • Monitor employment law updates and recommend policy or process changes when needed.
  • Coordinate employee leave, workplace accommodations, interactive processes, and return-to-work planning.
  • Support HR audits, reporting requirements, recordkeeping, and compliance initiatives.
  • Analyze HR information related to turnover, headcount, compensation, employee trends, and practice needs.
  • Provide prioritization, guidance, feedback, and training to HR team members.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR workflows, systems, documentation, and the overall employee experience.
What you bring
  • 3 to 5 years of progressive human resources experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; an equivalent combination of education, experience, and demonstrated skills may be considered.
  • Experience supporting employee relations, payroll, compliance, recruitment, and daily HR operations.
  • Experience providing HR guidance to managers and team members.
  • Knowledge of employee relations practices, wage and hour requirements, HR compliance, and workplace policies.
  • Strong judgment and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Clear, professional, and compassionate communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and consistent follow-through.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and respond thoughtfully to changing practice needs.
  • HRIS and payroll systems experience, HR reporting, workplace investigations, or behavioral healthcare experience is a plus.
Compensation and schedule
  • $27 to $32 per hour (USD)
  • Minimum 38 to 40 hours per week
    , generally scheduled Monday through Friday during daytime hours.
Working conditions
  • Primarily in person and office based in Eugene, Oregon.
  • Occasional travel to Northlight Counseling locations in Eugene, Springfield, Albany, and Salem
    .
  • Some flexibility may be needed to respond to time sensitive employee or practice matters.
  • Extended computer use is required.
  • Occasional lifting or moving office materials, files, or equipment weighing up to 20 pounds
