Programmer Analyst​/Systems Administrator

Position Purpose

This position exists to analyze, design and program software and systems in support of critical college services and operations.

• Banner technical support for academic data, registration, catalog, HR section building, finance, and financial aid modules
• Coordinate and manage the work of IT projects
• Soft Docs administration
• ISE administrator
• Third‑party software integration with current systems
• FWI administrator
• Banner security access administrator
• Scrum Master duties (coaching the team, managing technical requirements, removing impediments)
• Build LCC jobs for reporting and updates
• Argos reporting
• Assist with and create automation efforts
• Create Knowledge Base documents
• Create and maintain IT documentation for various systems and processes
• Analyze and develop systems and parts of systems
• UNIX data structure and data file support
• Learn and export new software tools, convert existing programs to new software; perform system upgrades as needed
• Create and maintain software used to integrate the Banner ERP system with third‑party systems
• Research, design and coordinate integrations to improve efficiency and ease of access to LCC products and data across the college
• Software provisioning
• Diagnose and resolve application software problems
• Participate in Agile scrum events, programming projects and weekly programmer meetings
• Design, develop, test and implement complex software systems and create functional and design specifications for proposed software
• Work without direct supervision
• Understand problems from a broad, interactive perspective and develop new solutions
• Problem‑solve and manage sensitive information with awareness of HIPAA/FERPA standards; maintain confidentiality
• Use critical thinking and decision‑making to analyze, evaluate, reason, and arrive at independent conclusions
• Participate in teams and committees supporting IT and college goals
• Other duties as assigned

• Associate’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience (three or more years in a related field)
• Database development experience, including structures and design concepts
• Two recent years of experience in software development, network/system administration, or equivalent educational experience
• Knowledge of Soft Docs

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, programming, network administration or a related field
• Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent)
• Technical certifications in Oracle, Linux/UNIX, cloud platforms or integration tools
• Direct experience with Ellucian Banner modules (Student, HR, Finance, Financial Aid)
• Experience in higher education IT environments, particularly with SIS ecosystems
• Knowledge of Soft Docs, ISE, FWI, Argos and Banner security administration
• Project management experience

• Hourly wage of $35.19–$51.61, reflecting an approximate annual salary of $73,202 – $107,353
