Ice Technician

Beginning salary is minimum wage, commensurate with experience.

The Rink Exchange, an ice sports facility in Eugene, OR, needs an ice technician. Ice technicians provide quality of ice and generally are responsible for routine driving of the ice resurfacer. This person does not need prior experience driving an ice resurfacer but general knowledge/experience in driving a vehicle is preferred.

The duties include driving the ice resurfacer (Zamboni), providing ice maintenance duties, janitorial services, skate sharpening services, answering and routing telephone calls, and providing general customer service to the patrons of the Rink Exchange. Training of all these skills will be provided by the Rink Exchange. No prior ice technician experience is necessary.

• Applicants must have reliable transportation and be able to show up to work on time consistently.
• Computer skills are preferred but not required.
• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Previous general driving experience in a standard vehicle is preferred.

Full-time (35 hours/week) and part-time (15-20 hour/week) positions are open. 20-30 hours per week working 3-5 days per week, flexible days and hours but generally late afternoon to late evening shifts on weekdays. Shifts start as early as 6 AM on weekends. Closing shift on weekends ends as late as 12 AM. This position is ideal for students of the University of Oregon or Lane Community College.
