Overview

Assistant Manager Overview:
Embraces our diverse, inclusive culture, leading all activities related to providing exceptional associate and client engagement. Leads activities required to achieve all store goals including financial objectives, client service, talent management, operational controls, asset protection and safety, and merchandise presentation. Operates as the Manager on Duty in the absence of another Manager.

Responsibilities
  • Lead with a high degree of integrity and demonstrate care for all associates; support all aspects of talent management including recruiting, hiring, training, development, performance management, recognition, retention, and succession planning
  • Assist in filling positions with qualified talent; develop internal bench strength
  • Support a personalized onboarding experience that positions associates for excellence in role and career progression
  • Partner with Store Manager on self-development goals; set clear objectives and hold self and associates accountable to goals; build a team that demonstrates Lane Selling and models these behaviours
  • Utilize continuous coaching to maximize abilities of all associates; encourage growth; reward and recognize achievement to drive retention and engagement
  • Share information and communicate clearly; foster dialogue around solutions and continuous learning
  • Assist in addressing conflict in a timely and appropriate manner
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws at all times

Qualifications
  • Strong communication, supervisory and customer service skills
  • 6 months – 1 year specialty retail experience; selling environment preferred
  • Prior management experience preferred
  • Technology proficient and strong business acumen
  • Works a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including evening, weekend and holiday shifts
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English; other languages desirable
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required
