The Public Works Parks and Open Space Division is seeking to hire an experienced dynamic Park Operations Maintenance Supervisor. We are looking for a person who demonstrates excellent communication and organizational skills paired with experience in leadership, budgets, customer service and asset management.
This position is a member of the Park Operations Leadership Team and is responsible for coordinating maintenance activities and projects throughout a region of Eugene’s developed parks system.

- Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for custodial duties in parks and related restroom and shelters, turf and horticultural practices in park landscapes and specialty gardens, playgrounds, sports-fields, irrigation, lighting, park parking lots and dog parks within assigned region or area of supervision.
- Responsible for the selection, supervision, and evaluation of assigned staff; assigns work and ensures appropriate training is provided; investigates complaints; recommends and administers disciplinary actions; handles sensitive personnel matters and recommends grievance responses; exercises full supervision over employees.
- Develops and monitors assigned budgets. Manages accounts payable and procurement card processes for the program areas supervised.
- Analyzes and evaluates current operational procedures and maintenance programs, develops, and implements short and long-range programs and strategies.
- Operates under an I.C.S. system and may direct assigned staff and other public works and technical personnel during emergencies such as ice and snow events, major street failures, flooding, windstorms, landslides, and other types of emergencies in parks or rights-of-way areas.
- Evaluates completed maintenance activities, repairs, or construction to ensure all work being performed adheres to established standards, policies or regulations.
