We are seeking aSafety Coordinator to join our hard working and fast-paced team.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures safety policies and procedures are followed by all bakery personnel in compliance with company, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules and regulations.
- Act as resource for employees who have questions and/or concerns about policies, procedures, and compliance issues in the area of safety.
- Dedicates time in the field inspecting depots and outlet stores and meeting with sales employees to correct safety issues and concerns.
- Develops and conducts safety training as required for bakery and sales departments.
- Manages and attends bakery safety committees and ensures member responsibilities are performed.
- Inspects bakery properties to detect existing or potential hazards and recommends corrective or preventative measures where needed.
- Coordinates the use of personal protective equipment.
- Participates in the investigation of injuries, claim reporting, light duty assignments, and retraining.
- Works with the company fleet manager to investigate vehicular accidents and submit claims as needed.
- Compiles and submits accident and injury reports required by regulatory agencies and company policy.
- Develops, coordinates and delivers training programs which will increase proficiency in safe practices and promote safety consciousness as well as comply with state and federal laws.
- Make studies and analyses of bakery accident and injury causes and hazards for use by all bakery personnel and outside agencies.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Previous safety experience, food manufacturing experience is a plus.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in the development and delivery of training programs.
- Reliable transportation with valid driver’s license and insurance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
- Speak effectively before groups and regulatory agencies.
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization may exist.
- Ability to handle competing priorities and deadlines effectively and respond well to last minute, high priority, time sensitive projects.
- Ability to use PC and software applications such as Microsoft Office.
