Position Overview

Production Shift Lead – Full Time Regular Production Operative

Location:

Eugene, OR, US

Shift: 10:00 p.m. – 6:30 a.m. (C Shift)

Role Summary

The Production Shift Lead is responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor in ensuring and overseeing all production and support activities on the assigned shift. The role promotes company values, serves as a resource for employees, ensures compliance with manufacturing, quality, safety, GMP, housekeeping, and resource policies, and maintains accurate documentation supporting production processes.

Role Responsibilities

Essential functions of the role, but are not limited to the following:

PRODUCTION SUPPORT & LEADERSHIP (80% of time)
  • Maximize IMA uptime through consistent influence of resources including Machine Operators, Tea Support, QA, and Maintenance Technicians
  • Maintain a viable training plan incorporating efficiency, yield assumptions, learning curves, quality expectations, and safe work practices for production staff to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Monitor movement of raw materials between the warehouse and manufacturing for accuracy and proper assignment.
  • Assist operators and mechanics in troubleshooting the initial cause of machine failure and provide miscellaneous support to keep production lines efficient, including dumping tea, moving, and staging components.
  • Demonstrate advanced experience and understanding of operation of all peripheral production equipment as well as IMA machines (e.g., Ishida scales, glue machines, case packers, ink‑jet print systems, conveyors MARKSnMORE).
  • Perform any and all assigned tasks.
  • Model best-in-class company values, teamwork, quality standards, performance, and attendance.
  • Lead Machine Operators with equal emphasis on efficiencies, safety, quality, costs, and morale for the assigned shift.
  • Establish, nurture, and develop partnerships with stakeholders throughout.
  • Ensure facility security and personnel safety.
  • Understand and conduct incident investigations.
DOCUMENTATION (20% of time)
  • Accurately prepare, complete, review, and approve all related production documents and reports, including BPRs, yield reconciliations, QC checklists, shift pass‑downs, and various logs.
  • Assist in the collection and administration of personnel performance documentation.
  • Perform manual waste count and recording.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Skill in IMA operation (C23 & C24) and Brenton’s.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with compliance, GMPs, and CFR Part 111 Dietary Supplement Regulations.
  • Basic supervision experience and ability to lead and impact a team positively.
  • Knowledge of EWTC products, production policies, and procedures.
  • Operation of forklifts and electric pallet jacks.
  • Ability to conduct incident investigations.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on an infrequent basis.

  • Sit at workstations for extended periods.
  • Two years of experience in a high‑speed manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in report writing, data entry, and general computer skills.
  • Proficiency in equipment operation.
  • Demonstrated positive performance, behavior, and attendance record.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and assist others.
  • Demonstrated promotion of quality and company values.
