The primary function of this position is to work in a team environment to build inventory of finished fertilizer products through operation of various bulk materials handling and packaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Work safely and maintain a safe working environment.
- Receive training on required materials handling equipment, including forklifts, and complete ongoing safety training.
- Report safety issues immediately to supervisor and/or Safety Coordinator.
- Communicate effectively to keep teams aligned and ensure the manufacturing process is efficient.
- Understand inventory control systems for bulk materials and packaging, and follow production scheduling instructions.
- Be capable of lifting, moving, and stacking boxes and bags up to 50 pounds throughout the shift.
- Repeatedly bend, stoop, and lift items from ground level to above head.
- Work on feet for the entire assigned shift.
- Maintain a clean workspace and help maintain cleanliness of the warehouse, exterior areas, and buildings.
- Support inventory control processes, ensuring accuracy of bulk goods and finished goods daily.
- Assist with annual warehouse inventory and schedule work around this event.
- Assist loading and unloading trucks/containers.
- Use company-provided respirators; respirator clearance required.
- Accuracy in basic math, reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Read and understand written instructions, verify product accuracy, and convey/receive instructions.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Develop complete knowledge of the Down To Earth fertilizer product line.
- Maintain good physical condition, mobility, and ability to stand and move for the entire shift.
- Operate manual hand trucks, hydraulic pallet jacks, and forklifts (training provided).
The position works both inside and occasionally outside the warehouse. The warehouse is neither heated nor air‑conditioned, so proper dress is necessary. Work clothes may become soiled.
Work ScheduleGenerally Monday to Friday, starting 5:00 AM, 8‑hour day with a 30‑minute unpaid lunch and two 15‑minute paid breaks. Overtime, including weekends and evenings, may be required during busy periods.
