Schedule:
Monday–Thursday | 5:00 AM–3:30 PM POSITION SUMMARY Coordinate with the Production Supervisor and/or Expediter regarding production priorities and parts scheduled to be produced. Program and operate CNC equipment, including working with customer-provided or pre-programmed part files, to perform milling, boring, and other machining operations according to blueprint specifications.
The CNC Operator/Programmer is responsible for ensuring parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established quality requirements while supporting the team in achieving Safety, Production, and Quality goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Program and operate CNC equipment according to production requirements and part specifications.
Review, modify, and utilize customer-provided or pre-programmed CNC programs as required.
Coordinate with the Production Supervisor and/or Expediter regarding production schedules, priorities, and parts to be produced.
Read and accurately interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, and other production documentation.
Perform milling, boring, and other machining operations using computer-generated programs.
Set up equipment and change tooling as required for scheduled production.
Use digital calipers and other measuring equipment to verify part dimensions using both metric and English measurements.
Conduct Statistical Process Control (SPC) quality checks and accurately document results.
Perform required in-process quality checks to ensure components meet blueprint and customer specifications.
Identify dimensional, programming, tooling, or quality issues and make appropriate adjustments or escalate concerns when necessary.
Enter accurate information on move tickets, production control forms, and other required production documentation.
Perform routine operator maintenance activities according to established procedures.
Follow all established Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements.
Follow all company safety rules, procedures, and equipment requirements.
Maintain the CNC machine and surrounding work area in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
Support the team in achieving all established Safety, Production, and Quality goals.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the position.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Three to six months of experience working with CNC equipment preferred.
Previous CNC programming or machine operation experience preferred.
Experience reading and interpreting blueprints preferred.
Basic computer skills required.
Experience using digital calipers or other precision measuring equipment preferred.
Ability to learn and use production, quality, and CNC-related computer systems.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, understand, and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, blueprints, specifications, and procedure manuals.
Ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
Ability to effectively communicate information in one-on-one and small-group settings with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to communicate production, equipment, programming, and quality concerns clearly and accurately.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to work accurately with both metric and English units of measurement.
