Overview
Shelter Care’s Permanent Supported Housing (PSH) Program is looking for a passionate Peer Support Specialist
.
The Peer Support Specialist is a full-time non-exempt position that will report to the PSH Program Manager. The starting hourly wage for this position is $21.05 - $21.50 per hour
; depending on a number of factors.
- Assist program participants in identifying their personal interests, goals, strengths/weaknesses, skills, resources and supports needed to maintain housing and increase their independence.
- Provide a model for both participants and staff by demonstrating that recovery is possible; maintain service logs, reports, records and notes according to agency guidelines.
- Other duties as described in the attached position description.
- Experience with working with people who have been homeless and/or have mental health needs is preferred.
- Credentials: Must be registered as a Peer Support Specialist with the Oregon Health Authority’s Traditional Health Worker Registry or able to do so within the first 6 months of employment.
