Overview

Medical Oncology Team Nurse

The Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center – Central Oregon’s largest private Cancer Care Clinic group, is looking for an exceptional Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team at our Eugene, OR location. This individual must possess strong multi‑tasking abilities and bring positivity and passion to their work. This role will also support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $40.00 - $65.00. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, internal equity, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver professional oncology nursing care, ensuring continuity and quality across the care spectrum.
  • Assess patient health status through interviews, physical exams, and review of medical data; document findings and communicate with providers.
  • Educate and support patients, families, and caregivers with clinical information psychosocial resources, and care navigation.
  • Participate in care team huddles, delegating tasks to clinical and non‑clinical staff to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Manage clinical operations including patient flow, triage, medication refills, and scheduling of tests, procedures, and referrals.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and serve as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Support clinical research activities and act as a resource for LPNs and medical assistants.
  • If applicable, provide nursing coverage across satellite offices.
  • Contribute and participate in professional development and oncology education.
  • Champion practice‑wide initiatives and maintain a clean well‑stocked, and organized work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN strongly preferred
  • At least three (3) years experience as a Registered Nurse preferred.
  • Active Oregon State RN;
    Current OCN certification preferred
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Must maintain continuing education requirements
