Director of Nursing Services - DNS RN
Status: Full‑time,
Schedule: Monday‑Friday and Management On Call Rotation
Location: Avamere Riverpark of Eugene – 425 Alexander Loop, Eugene, OR 97401

- Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the nursing service department and its programs in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing care facilities.
- Develop, maintain, and periodically update written policies and procedures governing the nursing department’s day‑to‑day functions.
- Participate in facility surveys (inspections) conducted by authorized government agencies as necessary.
- Prepare and plan the nursing service department’s budget and submit to the Administrator for review, recommendations, and/or approval.
- Determine the staffing needs of the nursing service department to meet the total nursing needs of residents.
- Assist the Administrator and/or the HR Director in the recruitment and selection of nursing service personnel.
- Assist the HR Director in developing performance evaluation schedules, criteria, and annual reviews for the nursing service department (RNs, LPNs, CNAs, medication aides, etc.).
- Minimum:
Nursing degree from an accredited college or university. - Minimum:
Three (3) years of supervisory experience in a hospital, nursing care facility, or related healthcare facility. - Minimum:
Six (6) months of equivalent experience in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices. - Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in this state.
- Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, and the general public.
- Active CPR/BLS certification.
