Radiation Oncology Nurse
Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center - Central Oregon's largest privately owned cancer center - is looking for an exceptional Registered Nurse (RN) to support our Radiation Oncology care team at our Eugene, OR clinic. Oncology experience is a plus, and previous Radiation Oncology experience highly preferred. This individual must also possess strong multi-tasking abilities and bring positivity and passion to their work.

The general pay scale for this position at WVCI is $42.00 - $69.46. The actual hiring rate is dependent on many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, education, job/position responsibilities, location, work performance, internal equity, etc.

Responsibilities
* Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
* Provide professional nursing care to patients and working in compliance with the standards of professional nursing, oncology, and the practice.
* Provide assistance to patients' families and caregivers to achieve timely access to quality healthcare within a community oncology setting.
* Assesses health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history.
* Reviews and reports the results of the health status assessment and physical examination, pertinent laboratory data, radiographic data, and psychosocial assessment of assigned patients to the provider.
* Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material.
* Provides psychosocial support to patients and families.
* Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy.
* Maintains work environment.
* Leads care team huddles.
* Facilitates clinical operations and patient care.
* Leads and coordinates care by delegating to both clinical and non-clinical personnel to deliver high-quality patient care while also following evidence-based practice guidelines.
* Assists providers with exams and procedures, including administering medications as ordered.
* Triages patient phone calls as needed and documents relevant information in the patient's chart.
* Facilitates communication between the patient/family and the interdisciplinary team and coordinates services related to patient care, including providing comprehensive patient and caregiver education.
* Other duties as assigned.
* Assist and collaborate with clinical research.
* Participates in professional development activities and maintains knowledge of oncology nursing by participating in ongoing educational opportunities.
* Be the nurse champion for practice-wide initiatives.
* Restocks supply area as needed. Follows OSHA guidelines when handling cytotoxic agents, biohazardous waste and any other material potentially infected with a blood borne pathogen.
* Maintains all disinfection protocols.
* Maintains equipment according to quality control standards.
* Manages patient medication refill requests, checks PDMP, and drafts orders for provider review.
* Accesses pt. IV's and implanted ports per protocol.
* Communicates and documents professionally through the EMR.
* Works closely with an interdisciplinary team to assess patients, manage symptoms, apply appropriate interventions, and document thoroughly.
* Assists with advanced therapeutics and coordination involving PET-CT and radiopharmaceutical administration.
* Works closely with other RN's to share responsibilities, safely hand-off care, and maintain a team approach to managing a diverse workload.
* Provides appropriate wound care intervention based on nursing assessment.
Qualifications
* Associates in Nursing degree from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN strongly preferred
* At least three (3) years experience as a Registered Nurse preferred, bowever, open to new grads
* Active Oregon State RN;
Current OCN certification preferred
* Current CPR/BLS certification
* Must maintain continuing education requirements
