Willamette Family is looking for Nurses-LPN for Withdrawal Management and residential treatment in our Buckley Program

Position

Role: LPN/Nurse for Withdrawal Management and residential treatment in the Buckley Program. This is a full-time position.

Employment Type:

Employee (W-2), hourly, non-exempt. Shift: Graveyard shift and weekend shift — Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Compensation:
Starts at $35.70/hour plus an $8/hour night shift differential.

Position Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Detoxification Nurse (LPN), providing direct client care in a medically monitored, 24/7 detoxification center and residential unit. This role supports individuals through the withdrawal process in a compassionate, structured, and clinically supervised environment. Our facility serves 55 beds.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current Oregon LPN license
  • Completion of an accredited one- or two-year nursing program
  • First Aid/CPR certification for healthcare providers or willingness to certify within the first 30 days of employment
  • Ability to position self to operate/manage/transport/navigate equipment, with or without accommodations
The Ideal Candidate will have
  • Understanding of substance use disorders
  • Knowledge of chemical dependency and treatment methods
  • Knowledge of nutrition, sanitation, and personal hygiene practices
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions and to apply techniques for specific needs
  • Knowledge of de-escalation methods or willingness to be trained in de-escalation
  • Ability to interact effectively with coworkers, clients, and individuals from diverse backgrounds while treating everyone with respect and dignity
  • Competency in understanding substance abuse treatment practices
Employment Requirements
  • This role requires on-site availability; must be located in the Eugene, OR area or willing to commute
  • Background check approval from the Department of Human Services (initiated post-offer)
  • Pre-employment drug screening (including cannabis/THC) (initiated post-offer)
  • Effective 03/28/2025, a 12-month waiting period before former clients can apply for employment to ensure professional boundaries
Job Duties
  • Provide Direct Patient Care: Assess, monitor, and support clients through the detoxification process with appropriate delegation
  • Administer Medications & Treatments: Dispense medications and perform treatments per standing orders and clinical protocols
  • Monitor & Document Patient Progress: Observe and record changes in patient conditions; ensure timely documentation; manage emergencies and referrals
  • Support Medical Providers: Assist physicians, PAs, and NPs to ensure seamless patient care
  • Ensure Effective Shift Transitions: Provide/receive thorough shift reports and maintain accurate provider rounds lists
  • Maintain Client Roster: Track and update patient census and admissions per shift
  • Stay Current with Best Practices: Maintain knowledge of evolving detoxification protocols and evidence-based practices
  • Perform Additional Duties: Complete other related tasks as assigned by the Program Director, Manager, or Supervisor
