Peace Health is seeking a RN Clinic
- Behavioral Health Young Adult for a Part Time, 0.60 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at Peace Health is $46.27 – $69.41. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
Provides professional nursing care to patients in the clinic/outpatient setting in compliance with professional practice standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach towards patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.
Details of the Position:
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs. This includes assessing patient’s condition, triaging patient phone calls, counseling patients, providing patient education, taking patient histories, administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds and monitoring patient vital signs.
- Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
- Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participates in the development of and maintains established policies, procedures and objectives.
- Participates in the development and implementation of quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and patient/family centered work environment (Required)
- Basic computer skills including MS Office applications (Required)

- Ability to provide health education to patients, staff and community (Required)
- Knowledge of Medicare, JCAHO, DNV & HCFA regulations pertaining to ambulatory care (Required)
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (Required)
Department / Location Specific Notes
Anticoagulation Services:
- Ability to administer point of care testing required.
- Ability to implement, document, and monitor, with health care team, patient anticoagulation management for achievement of desired therapeutic outcomes required.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an interdisciplinary team and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals, practitioners, patients and families required.
- Experience with warfarin counseling & monitoring preferred.
OWN – Behavioral Health:
- Will meet criteria for QMHA status.
OWN
- Behavioral Health First Episode (EASA):
- Minimum of three years’ experience in mental health setting preferred.
- Knowledge of psychiatric medications and side effects.
- Interest and ability to work with young people experiencing psychosis.
PHMG:
- Demonstrates competence in making professional judgements pertaining to patient care.
- May screen and prioritize patient telephone or walk in inquiries concerning their medical care, prescription refills and insurance authorizations and referrals.
- Evaluates and responds appropriately to urgent or emergency situations.
Working Conditions
Lifting
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Push/Pull:
Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
- Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
- Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
- Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
Environmental Conditions
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
