Annual Basis: 12 Month appointments, limited duration up to 3 years (renewable)

Position Summary

The Global Studies Institute seeks qualified applicants for its research pool. Positions are limited‑duration appointments potentially renewable up to a total of three years, with possibility for extension beyond based on programmatic need and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct data collection and analysis for grant‑funded research.
  • Complete human subjects research ethics training.
  • Participate in team meetings and conduct interviews.
  • Engage in second language acquisition research.
  • Perform applied research on world language curriculum, technology‑based tools, and assessments.
  • Explore the intersection of digital technologies in world language/global classrooms.
  • Develop curriculum for international and area studies.
  • Enhance pedagogy and teaching effectiveness.
  • Assist in stakeholder research and meeting coordination.
  • Contribute to programming activities and brainstorming sessions.
  • Maintain activity logs and meeting notes.
  • Collaborate with researchers to collect, organize, and upload materials.
  • Craft reports for funders and create promotional materials.
  • Work with contractors on website design and management.
  • Moderate forums to ensure smooth and constructive discussions.
  • Assist with publishing and disseminating research.
  • Prepare and print background materials.
Minimum Requirements
  • Research Assistant:
    Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Senior Research Assistant (Type

    B):
    Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of applicable work experience post degree.
  • Senior Research Assistant (Type

    C):
    Bachelor's degree plus 12 years of applicable work experience post degree.
  • Research Assistant (Type

    C):
    Master's degree in a related field.
  • Senior Research Assistant (Type

    C):
    Master's degree plus 6 years of work experience post degree.
  • Senior Research Assistant (Type

    C):
    Master's degree plus 12 years of work experience post degree.
  • Research Associate:
    Terminal degree in a related field.
  • Senior Research Associate (Type I):
    Terminal degree plus 6 years of applicable work experience post degree.
  • Senior Research Associate (Type II):
    Terminal degree plus 12 years of applicable work experience post degree.
  • Postdoctoral Scholar:
    Doctoral degree in a related field.
