The Lindberg Lab:
A Postdoc in the Lindberg lab at the Knight Campus at the University of Oregon requires an individual who is self-motivated and has excellent organizational, managerial, and communication skills. This position will participate in a variety of new and ongoing research projects. This position works closely with PILindberg to design and implement lab research, supervise PhDstudents and undergraduate students and manage collaborative relationships with research project external partners.
The Lindberg lab explores smart chemical and biological toolkitsfor biofabrication of advanced 3D-models, organoids, and injectabletherapies. Ongoing projects aim to advance treatments for musculoskeletal, hematological, and neural diseases likeosteoarthritis, blood cancers, and primary brain tumors. To ensure that our research is clinically relevant, we use patient's owncells and tissues, capturing a wide range of demographicdifferences to build smart, personalized models. Our overall goalis to identify therapeutic targets at a patient-specific level andto develop regenerative treatment options for musculoskeletal,hematological, and neural diseases that are effective across thewider population, including patients with compromised endogenoushealing environments (e.g. chronic inflammation, diminished stemcell reserves, hypoxia, aging-related endocrine changes, leakyblood vessels, and/or disrupted tissue homeostasis).

Working inthis lab environment requires a high level of expertise, precision and ability and drive to solve practical problems.

The Postdoctoral Scholar will be responsible for conducting research and technical activities related to sponsored projects inDr. Gabriella Lindberg's lab. The incumbent will conduct research related to biofabrication of oxygen controlling hydrogels asinjectable therapeutics for Osteoarthritis. The projects includesynthesis of bioinks/bioresins, volumetric bioprinting (volumetricadditive manufacturing; VAM), oxygen measurements, physiochemicalbiomaterial characterization, stem cell culture, isolation of humancells and fluids, multiplexed proteomics, biologicalcharacterization of cell-laden hydrogels (e.g. live/dead, metabolicassays, biochemical assays, histology, immunohistochemistry andRNAseq).

The postdoc will also lead in vivo studies evaluating thesafety, efficacy, and therapeutic potential of oxygen-controllinghydrogels as injectable treatments for Osteoarthritis.

Research activities will include induction of osteoarthritis in arat model, intra-articular administration of hydrogel therapeutics,longitudinal monitoring of treatment response, collection and processing of biological samples, assessment of local and systemicinflammatory responses, and…
