INTERNAL ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITY
SENIOR DINING SERVICES DIRECTORWe are on a mission to create a senior living revolution where compassion meets innovation! In addition to leading your assigned community as the Dining Services Director, the Senior Dining Services Director (SDSD) will provide support to Compass Senior Living by partnering with the Culinary Specialist to support other Compass communities as needed. This may include training, mentoring, onboarding new hires, menu and systems support, and short‑term coverage during leadership transitions or vacancies within dining services.
This role is designed for a high‑performing culinary leader who excels at running a strong community‑level operation while also contributing to consistency, quality, and talent development across the Compass portfolio.
What You’ll DoAs a Senior Dining Services Director, you can expect a range of responsibilities and tasks.
Here Are Some General Expectations- Fully serve as a DSD for an assigned Compass community.
- Partner with the Culinary Specialist as needed to:
- Support onboarding and training of new Dining Services Directors
- Mentor and coach culinary leaders across Compass communities
- Assist with menu standards, recipes, and dining initiatives.
- Provide short‑term operational support to other communities during:
- Culinary leadership vacancies
- Culinary and/or community improvement plans
- Survey readiness or post‑survey support
- Serve as a Compass dining culture ambassador, reinforcing standards, systems, and values across all Compass communities.
- Formal training in Culinary Arts, Food Service Management, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of progressive leadership experience in senior living, hospitality, or multi‑state dining operations preferred.
- Proven experience in training, coaching, and mentoring culinary leaders.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and food safety standards.
- You will meet all health requirements as specified by state and/or federal regulations.
- Ability to travel between communities, must have a valid driver’s license.
- Strategic thinking with strong operational follow‑through.
- Approachable, hands‑on leader who builds trust quickly.
- Organized, adaptable, and calm in fast‑paced or transitional environments.
- Strong alignment with Compass Senior Living’s mission and values.
- You will have the ability to perform job responsibilities with or without accommodation.
