The Line Cook / Prep Cook’s main objective is to take point on executing all required procedures for daily food prep while also supporting service execution during operating hours. This role is responsible for setting up and breaking down the kitchen, keeping the kitchen and walk-in organized throughout the day, running point on batch recipe items, and communicating needs to management and cooks.
This position requires a commitment to excellence in every recipe being produced, strong time management, and a consistently positive attitude. The Line Cook / Prep Cook will ensure proper creation, storage, and execution of all menu items while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, and safety.
This position reports to the Kitchen Lead.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities- Fill out & perform daily kitchen opening duties checklist
- Ensure the entire required prep list is executed daily
- Execute batch recipe prep items accurately and efficiently
- Maintain station readiness and ensure smooth kitchen flow
- Communicate low stock alerts to management and cooks
- Monitor waste and mitigate loss
- Ensure all items in walk-in/reach-in are stored, labeled, and dated properly
- Manage putting away and organizing incoming orders
- Arrive at work ready to work by time of shift start
- Ensure recipe integrity is being upheld
- Ensure food appearance meets standards
- Ensure performance meets standards
- Keep kitchen visually presentable throughout the day
- Take lead in kitchen team’s adherence to sanitation & food safety regulations
- Maintain a safe and respectful work environment
- Fill out & perform daily kitchen closing duties checklist
- Keep kitchen clean and tidy due to open concept kitchen & visibility by customers
- Must be comfortable working in an open concept kitchen
- Maintain professional personal hygiene and appearance due to visibility by customers
Skills & Experience:
- Ability to lift 80 pounds
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours
- Vision for the prep execution flow, to ensure completion of all required tasks
- Strong attention to recipe procedure & food safety procedures
- 1-3 year prep cook experience required
Compensation:
$16-$18/hr BOE, + a percentage of the tip pool
