- Read and understand fire sprinkler blueprints.
- Employ safety measures while installing a fire safety system.
- Perform tasks, measuring, marking, cutting, and threading pipe for installation.
- Connect fittings and sprinkler heads to the pipe, then test the system to ensure there are no leaks.
- Keep abreast with the latest developments in fire sprinklers, NFPA fire sprinkler codes.
- Document all details of the work.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of tools.
- CR‑16 preferred.
- High level of precision workmanship.
- Willingness to learn about fire sprinkler systems and fire sprinkler codes.
- Strong eye for detail.
- Ability to understand blueprints, stock lists, and inventory.
- Excellent judgment and analysis skills.
- Must be highly organized, systematic, and adhere to construction deadlines.
- Steel experience, including cutting, threading, and grooving black steel pipe.
- CPVC experience, including cutting, reaming, welding, and hanging CPVC pipe.
- Access and ability to check work email during working hours (smartphone or tablet) – the company provides a $10 stipend for data charges.
- Basic proficiency in English.
- Candidates must have a basic understanding of English for safety purposes and to communicate with colleagues, vendors, and contractors on‑site effectively. The ability to follow instructions and engage with the team is essential for success in this role.
