Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician
Responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial instrumentation and electrical equipment to ensure seamless performance, peak efficiency, and a safety‑focused operating environment.
Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and fine‑tune motors, air‑actuated valves, pressure, temperature, flow, and level devices.
- Document work and report key findings, ensuring accurate maintenance records.
- Maintain and optimize control systems, including electronic components, analyzers, and PLCs.
- Perform electrical inspections, new and existing installations, and safety checks.
- Share knowledge with peers, mentor colleagues, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
- Adhere to plant safety and environmental guidelines and policies.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 3 years as an electrical maintenance technician in an industrial setting.
- State of Oregon Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) or Journeyman license.
- Experience troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on motor controls, control valves, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- Ability to work at heights, in extreme weather, and wear respiratory protection.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Commitment to safety protocols, including use of PPE.
- Hourly wage range: LME $45–$50 /hr;
Journeyman $49–$54 /hr.
- Read technical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals.
- Instrument calibration and use of industrial test equipment.
- Knowledge of Honeywell Experion or other DCS programming/t troubleshooting.
- Expertise in AC/DC motors, drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control loop tuning.
- Experience with MCCs and electrical equipment up to 480 V.
- Proficiency with computer systems, networks, and CMMS software.
- Familiarity with electrical one‑line drawings, P&IDs, cable schedules, and I/O lists.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
