Required Qualifications
  • Education:

    High school graduation or equivalent.
  • Experience:

    Three (3) years of journey‑level experience in electronic hardware and access control, with at least two (2) years in maintenance, new construction, and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Licensure or Certification:
    Oregon General Journeyman Electrician License upon hire; current and valid Oregon Driver’s license or ability to obtain one by date of hire.
  • Conditions of Employment:
    Successful applicants must complete a criminal background check. Infractions are evaluated on a case‑by‑case basis. Must work and reside in Oregon at the time their work is being performed.

  • Experience:

    Extensive journey‑level experience; experience in maintenance, new construction, access control, electrical hardware, and electrical troubleshooting in a large commercial setting or in a public or higher‑education institution.

Position Purpose

Responsible for journey‑level performance in installing, maintaining, repairing, and removing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures and door hardware in college facilities.

Essential Functions
  • Analyze and troubleshoot problems with electrical systems, including all phases of electrical installation and repair; diagnose causes of outages.
  • Install, modify, troubleshoot, clean, and repair elements of the power distribution system.
  • Repair, modify, install, maintain and remove electrical systems associated with plumbing fixtures, fans, pumps, motors, clocks, fire alarms, cooling towers, chillers, kitchen equipment, appliances, heating water systems, automatic door opener hardware, overhead doors, hoists, HVAC,…
