Nexus Family Healing is looking to add a Part Time Facilities Technician to join our newest Youth Psychiatric Residential Treatment facility set to open this summer in Eugene, Oregon (our Portland location also opening). The facility serves justice‑involved youth ages 12–17 experiencing acute emotional concerns and serious persistent mental illness.

The Facilities Technician will maintain the appearance, structure, and safety of the facility’s buildings, vehicles, and grounds, and perform general facility maintenance tasks. The role includes teaching maintenance and renovation skills to residents at sites with vocational training programs.
Primary Responsibilities- Inspect building structure for safety problems and report findings
- Mow lawns, trim shrubs, rake leaves, shovel snow, and perform landscaping duties
- Complete work orders and related reports; submit to supervisor
- Secure buildings and storage areas at the end of each day
- Perform basic automotive maintenance on vehicles: replace wiper blades, repair/replacement of tires, maintain fluid levels
- Maintain vehicle logs, perform preventative maintenance checks, record repairs, and coordinate vehicle cleaning
- Move furniture and notify supervisor of needed repairs; perform furniture repair and refinishing as appropriate
- Maintain on‑site storage areas
- Assist in painting, carpet or linoleum installation; repair heating systems, faucets/sinks, water chiller, AC, emergency power, generator, and fire alarm systems; troubleshoot and recommend actions
- Stay current on fire, safety, and maintenance codes; adhere to policies, procedures, training
- Demonstrate cooperation, professionalism, ethical conduct, healthy boundaries
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of related experience in building maintenance, construction, or an additional trade
- Proven skills in at least two of the following: plumbing, woodworking, general electrical, vehicle maintenance, landscaping
- Ability to meet life‑safety codes
- Valid driver’s license; meet state agency and Home Office driving requirements
- Successfully pass a DHS criminal background check
Education and Experience
- Three or more years of experience with building maintenance, construction, or an additional trade
- Time spent operating and driving vehicles
- Excellent sensory skills; effective communication
- Uses vehicle, standard office equipment (desktop/laptop), photocopiers, smartphones
- Lift up to 70 lb unassisted, up to 125 lb with assistance
- Stand and walk extended periods (2–4 hr)
- Climb ladders, work at heights, crawl tight spaces
- Twist, bend, stretch as required for daily maintenance tasks
