This position provides journey‑level expertise in electrical construction and maintenance within a collaborative team environment. The incumbent is responsible for the maintenance and repair of existing building electrical systems, including the replacement of components such as lighting fixtures, branch circuits, and overcurrent and short‑circuit protection devices. Duties also include the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide range of electronic equipment, encompassing both commercial and specialized systems that may require custom design and unique maintenance procedures.
Additionally, the role involves maintaining, repairing, and replacing components of campus exterior lighting systems and associated control devices, including both pole‑mounted and building‑mounted fixtures.
Possession of one of the following Oregon Electrician Licenses appropriate to the work to be performed:
- General Supervising Electrician License
- General Journeyman Electrician License
- Limited Journey Manufacturing Plant License
- Limited Supervising Manufacturing Plant License
- Ability to perform duties in a way that advances and supports the mission of the department and university.
- Skilled in taking initiative, looking for what needs to be done and doing it.

- Ability to maintain a safe and safety‑conscious workplace.

- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
- 3 years’ experience as a Journey-Level Electrician
- Maintenance experience in a higher education facility or large commercial/residential complex.
- Experience with general maintenance and repair of HVAC systems.
- Knowledge/experience with maintenance and repair of steam heating and hot water boiler, and kitchen appliance systems.
