Overview
Looking Glass is hiring an Overnight Youth Development Advocate for our Station 7 program!
ResponsibilitiesThe Youth Development Advocate assists with coordination of the service plan including integration of support team members, key agencies and youth participants. This position assists with providing crisis intervention, maintaining a positive milieu, creating behavior management plans and case coordination for youth and family who access services.
QualificationsExperience: Previous experience working with youth and families
Availability: Friday
- Monday, 11pm - 9am (Overnight)
Certifications: Valid Oregon Driver's License, acceptable record, and insurability under Agency's auto insurance. Must be able to drive agency van as needed
- Ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and as a member of an integrated team.
- Ability to relate effectively with youth, parents, community, and referral sources.
- Ability to work effectively with runaway/homeless youth and their families, assisting them with crisis intervention, behavior management, access to social services and with case management.
- Ability to represent and promote program within the Agency and in the community.
- Ability to work in a stressful, unstructured environment, and maintain a positive mental attitude.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Cultural sensitivity and experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Professional appearance appropriate to the position.

- Assists case plan coordination
- Assists with crisis intervention counseling and service coordination for telephone and walk-in clients.
- Acts as a positive role model and provide leadership and motivation for youth and staff.
- Assists in planning and implements group programs and activities.
- Maintains a clear and positive milieu and implements program policies and procedures.
- Completes documentation in a timely and accurate manner (i.e. staff log, files, agenda, statistics in data management systems, etc.).
- Assists with networking with other social service agencies and professionals in a manner that would provide the client with the best possible social support system.
- Completes Service Coordinator duties when Service Coordinators are not available.
- Ensures appropriate information is shared when needed in accordance with confidentiality policy.
- Participates actively in staff meetings and trainings.
- Works one to four scheduled shifts per week and is responsible for on-call shift coverage one week a month.
- Transports clients as needed.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
