Director of Development, College of Arts and Sciences

As the Director of Development for the College of Arts and Sciences, you will play a key frontline fundraising role advancing philanthropic support for the University of Oregon. In this role you will manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, focusing on gifts in the $100,000+ range, and lead all aspects of the donor lifecycle — from identification and qualification to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

You will partner closely with colleagues across University Advancement and academic units, including the College of Arts and Sciences, to align donor interests with institutional priorities and maximize philanthropic impact. You will serve as a highly collaborative and externally facing representative of the university, regularly engaging with donors, alumni, and stakeholders. This position requires frequent travel and proactive outreach to build relationships and advance giving conversations.

This role is ideal for a motivated fundraiser who enjoys being in the field, building connections, and executing strategy. You will contribute to broader development planning efforts while personally driving results and helping grow a strong pipeline of future major and leadership gift donors.

  • Strong organizational and portfolio management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently.
