Overview
Lane County Behavioral Health seeks a qualified mental health associate to serve as a mobile crisis service responder in the new Mobile Crisis Service of Lane County program (MCS-LC) to serve individuals in behavioral health crisis across Lane County.
Responsibilities- Respond to calls for service in rural and metro areas of Lane County as part of two‑person teams.
- Provide phone‑based, office‑based, and community‑based crisis assessment, intervention, and safety planning services.
- Use standardized tools and strategies following training; work under oversight of behavioral health clinical staff.
- Provide follow‑up referrals and case management support following a behavioral health crisis.
This permanent schedule includes four 10‑hour shifts between 9:30 pm and 7:30 am, either Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday. Initial training consists of three weeks of 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Monday–Friday, followed by swing shift before transitioning to the regular NOC shift. Overtime, non‑traditional hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays may apply. Positions include community‑based work and related travel.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral science field (psychology, sociology, etc.) from an accredited university, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience totaling at least two additional years.
- At least one year of direct work experience with mentally or emotionally disturbed clients, or a minimum of three years of relevant work, education, training, or experience combined with the necessary competencies.
- Communicate effectively; understand mental‑health assessment, treatment, and service terminology; apply concepts; provide psychosocial skills development and implement interventions within scope of practice.
- QMHA Certification through MHACBO.
- NPI number.
- Official transcripts and diploma.
- Curriculum vitae or résumé.
Valid driver’s license in possession at time of application, and a valid Oregon driver’s license before appointment. Full criminal offender information record check and drug screening are required. License and certification status will be verified during the screening process.
