Youth Care Professional 3rd Shift

Overview

Nexus Family Healing is expanding to Eugene, Oregon, with the opening of a 14-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) set to open this summer. This location is in partnership with the Oregon Health Authority Behavioral Health Division and will serve justice-involved youth ages 12–17 experiencing acute emotional concerns and serious and persistent mental illness. • Overnight (3rd) shift: 10:00 pm– 8:30 am
• 38–40 hour weekly schedule options:
  Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday
• Pay Rate: $23.00+ per hour

• Support and reinforce the therapeutic plan by guiding residents in daily living activities
• Mentor and supervise resident daily activities and behavior according to established guidelines
• Collaborate with coworkers on treatment plan implementation and therapeutic services
• Be aware of individual client phases, privileges, restrictions, and adapt interactions accordingly
• Ensure resident safety and maintain a positive, respectful, clean, and therapeutic environment
• Engage with clients’ families/support networks to reinforce positive family partnerships; follow protocols for family engagement
• Plan and participate in off-campus resident activities and assist with transportation to home visits, appointments, and planned recreational activities

• Must be 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license
• Desire to work in human services and care for at-risk youth
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals and understand their needs
• Willingness to meet the cultural needs of individuals and communities (language, traditions, values)
• Successful participation in and completion of a three-part Nonviolent Crisis Intervention exam and training

• Ability to assist staff in physical interventions and restraints of clients
• Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Stand and walk for extended periods (2–4 hours)
• Twist, bend, and stretch to perform daily activities within a residential treatment facility
