We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Operations to lead operational activities within an electronics-focused manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for driving operational excellence, improving processes, developing a high-performing team, and ensuring the organization meets its productivity, quality, delivery, and financial objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics manufacturing or a related technical manufacturing environment, combined with proven expertise in Lean Six Sigma, continuous process improvement, and operational leadership.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can assess current processes, identify opportunities for improvement, implement sustainable solutions, and develop a team capable of delivering consistent results.
- Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities.
- Develop, coach, and mentor managers and operational staff to build a high-performing, accountable team.
- Establish clear performance expectations, goals, KPIs, and accountability throughout the organization.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence, and problem-solving.
- Identify process inefficiencies, bottlenecks, quality issues, and opportunities to improve productivity and profitability.
- Lead Lean Six Sigma initiatives and apply continuous improvement methodologies to optimize workflows and eliminate waste.
- Utilize data and operational metrics to identify trends, determine root causes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Improve manufacturing processes, workflows, capacity, quality, and overall operational efficiency.
- Partner with engineering, quality, supply chain, sales, and other departments to ensure alignment and effective execution.
- Oversee staffing, workforce planning, resource allocation, and employee development.
- Develop and manage operational budgets while maintaining appropriate cost controls.
- Ensure production and operational activities meet established quality, delivery, safety, and customer requirements.
- Lead organizational and process changes while effectively communicating expectations and objectives to employees.
- Establish standardized processes and operating procedures to improve consistency and scalability.
- Monitor operational performance and provide regular reporting and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Foster a collaborative environment where employees are encouraged to identify problems, suggest improvements, and take ownership of results.
- Support the organization’ s growth by developing scalable processes, systems, and teams.
- Bachelor’ s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive operations/manufacturing leadership experience, preferably within electronics, electrical, high-tech, or related manufacturing.
- Proven experience leading and developing teams in a manufacturing or operational environment.
- Lean Six Sigma certification strongly preferred (Green Belt or Black Belt).
- Demonstrated success implementing continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of process optimization, root-cause analysis, waste reduction, and operational efficiency.
- Experience establishing and managing KPIs and performance metrics.
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, cost control, and productivity improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and implement new processes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, coaching, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of an organization.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP or other manufacturing management systems.
