Body Shop Buffer​/Finisher Tech

Cox Automotive is seeking a skilled Body Shop Buffer/Finisher Tech to support high-quality vehicle reconditioning within our fast-paced remarketing operations. In this role, you will prepare vehicle surfaces, perform buffing, polishing, and finishing work, and ensure repairs meet Cox Automotive and OEM standards. You will inspect completed work for quality, follow safety and environmental procedures, and collaborate with technicians and supervisors to meet production goals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicle surfaces for buffing, polishing, and finishing
• Perform machine and hand buffing to remove defects and restore gloss
• Apply finishing compounds and materials to meet quality standards
• Inspect completed work for proper color match and finish quality
• Follow safety, PPE, and environmental regulations and shop procedures
• Use buffers, sanders, and related tools safely and effectively
• Document work performed and communicate status to supervisors
• Collaborate with body and paint technicians to meet production targets
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area
• Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives in the shop
