RN Residency - Operating Room

Candidate must be a June 2026 or prior graduate with less than 6 months of RN experience.

Program Overview

The HCA Healthcare Residency Program is a year-long program designed to give recent nursing graduates hands‑on experience and help establish valuable clinical and critical‑thinking skills. Residents work with nurse educators, experienced nurses, and peer residents in a supportive learning environment.

Program Structure
  • Advanced clinical training in a specialty area
  • Monthly educational sessions
  • Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor
  • Hands‑on simulations with measurement and evaluation of skills
  • Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders
  • Evidence‑based practice project
Responsibilities
  • Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; identify and report any changes.
  • Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by provider(s); document care promptly.
  • Administer prescribed medications; monitor therapeutic response; intervene when necessary.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests; anticipate needs and resolve proactively.
  • Teach patients, families, and caregivers about condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up; translate complex terminology.
Qualifications
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of employment
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
  • Registered Nurse license or Graduate Nurse status in the state
  • No prior experience required
