Summary

The individuals who perform this job provide extraordinary shopping experiences to our guests and stock merchandise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Know and actively demonstrate, daily, our Company Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Maintain uniform standard, as detailed in the Employee Manual, for all worked hours.
  • Know and actively demonstrate superior product knowledge.
  • Greet guests and engage in conversation with a smile and a helpful demeanor, remembering that the guest always comes first.
  • Recommend merchandise based on the guests needs or desires, with a focus to suggest our in‑house brands.
  • Answer guests questions concerning price and use of merchandise.
  • Create client relationships with regular guests.
  • If needed, carry product to register counters and carry out products for guests.
  • May be asked to run a cash register as business dictates.
  • May be asked to receive as business dictates.
  • Prepare promotional events as necessary.
  • Set up displays or arrange merchandise in floor stacks, on counters or tables, to promote sales.
  • Front merchandise and rotate stock for freshness and stock shelves with product.
  • Maintain neat and orderly sales floor and back stock.
  • Clean shelves, bottles, aisles, and tables; look for product not stocked properly to avoid trips and falls.
  • Maintain fresh and readable price tags on all products.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding fast or slow‑moving product, stock levels, out of stocks, and department needs.
  • Prepare sales floor and storage areas for inventory and assist in the inventory process if needed.
  • Properly use and maintain computers and RF scanner equipment.
  • Seek to continually improve related skills and knowledge to contribute to profitability and productivity.
  • Avoid conversations with coworkers when guests are present.
  • Limit use of personal cell phone to work related activities only while on the sales floor.
  • Carry out directives of management efficiently.
  • Fulfill responsibilities with care and attention to detail.
  • Practice teamwork and cooperation with others.
  • Possess time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to manage stress in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Work in accordance with all safety regulations of Specs Family Partners and OSHA.
  • Constantly stand, lift, carry, walk, and bend, and reach products routinely weighing 50 pounds or more. Use arms, hands, and fingers to feel, handle, reach, and lift. Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds or more occasionally using proper lifting techniques and tools. Push and/or pull 50‑100 pounds or more regularly. Communicate with and understand team members and guests.

  • Other projects and tasks assigned by management. Yes, you may have to clean the bathroom.
  • Attendance and timeliness are required. This is not a remote sales job.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications
  • Must be over the age of 21.
  • Must be able to perform each essential duty listed above satisfactorily.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; retail sales experience preferred but we can teach.
  • Strong product knowledge a plus.
  • Able to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions or memos; communicate effectively with coworkers and guests.
  • Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Basic math skills: add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers and fractions/decimals; calculate discounts and percentages.
  • Smiley, friendly, helpful demeanor; responsible, reliable, and committed to providing extraordinary service.
  • Patience, friendliness, and an outgoing personality needed.
  • Self‑starter with strong work ethic; completes job assignments in timely fashion.
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out written, oral, or diagram instructions.
  • Valid TABC Beverage Sellers Permit required;
    Food Handlers Permit may be required. TABC course 2‑3 hours provided and paid through deduction.
  • Physical demands: standing, walking, bending; lift up to 50 pounds regularly, up to 100 pounds occasionally; push/pull 50‑100 pounds; vision: close, distance, depth perception; ability to communicate/understand.
  • Must maintain physical attendance according to schedule; available for Friday and Saturday; open availability 80% or more of all shifts; full‑time typically 35 hours per week.
Hours

Full‑time typically 35 hours per week. Must be available to work any shift on Friday or Saturday and must be available 80% or more of all shifts each week. Part‑time up to 25 hours per week.

Work Environment and Environmental Conditions

We provide a fun and positive environment to serve our guests. You may be exposed to outside weather conditions while delivering service. The noise level is typically moderate.
