Mid Grocery - Stock Controller

As a Stock Controller, you will lead and maintain a well-stocked department while delivering superior customer service. You will assist with work scheduling, train and develop team members, and manage overnight stocking teams, inventory, and customer interactions.

• Carry leadership duties in the absence of the Department Manager, overseeing the overnight stocking team.
• Delegate, direct, and motivate partners; hold the team accountable for performance and meet expectations.
• Communicate team performance, operations, morale, and inventory needs to the Department Manager and Leader.
• Coach and develop partners, assist with onboarding and training.
• Contribute to schedule creation, report overnight attendance, and help set schedules.
• Deliver key results such as A+ Standards, labor costs, overtime, and hospitality.
• Use technology and data to manage inventory, in-stocks, and processes.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs for inventory management, including MSI/MSR and full case backstock.
• Train on 100% in-stocks, rotation, and fully-filled displays.
• Communicate with DSD vendors.
• Load, unload, and move heavy, bulky products.
• Perform all night stocker duties.
• Provide excellent customer service, model and coach superior customer interaction.
• Answer customer questions, assist selections, and resolve complaints.
• Merchandise products effectively.

• Age 18+.
• Minimum 3 months of experience in stocking or customer service.
• Preferred experience leading an overnight team or large teams.
• Understanding of technology.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with team and leadership.
• Capacity to work overnight schedules.
• Proficiency with pallet jack/baler.
• Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and delegate.
• Adaptability and willingness to handle change.
• Motivation to grow and learn with the company.
• High energy level and stamina for fast-paced environments.
• Preference for working overnight shifts and thriving with others.
• Willingness to remain flexible to unexpected tasks while maintaining structure.
• Completion of forklift or power jack training.

• Constantly reach at waist and grasp.
• Frequently stand, walk, and bend.
• Occasionally reach overhead, at shoulder, knee, floor, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist; push or pull with arms, pinch, and perform fine motor movements.
• Occasionally be exposed to cold, loud noise, ambient temperatures, and wet conditions.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and manage in excess of 100 lbs.

Measurements are generally defined as:
Constant – 5.5+ hours per 8‑hour day;
Frequently – 2.5–5.5 hours per 8‑hour day;
Occasionally – 0–2.5 hours per 8‑hour day.
