Invitation to e-chess tournament POLIBUDA CHESS CUP

The POLIBUDA CHESS CUP (e-Chess Tournament) will take place on 18 May 2025 at 1.00 CET on the lichess.org platform.
The tournament is open to first and second degree students, PhD students and staff from all EUNICE universities (check here whether your uni belongs to EUNICE).
The aim of the tournament is to popularise chess among the academic community and to identify the best e-chess players at EUNICE European University.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION in brief:
- The first ten applications from each EUNICE partner university will take part in the tournament. Applications will be considered in the order in which they are received (first come, first served approach).
- Participants will be informed via email whether they have been accepted to participate in the competition or not.
- When registering, you must use your university email address
. Applications from private email addresses will not be accepted. - The final tournament
will take place on 18 May 2025 at 13:00 (CET). The event will be broadcast live with commentary, which can be followed on the Facebook fan page of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Transport. The broadcast will be delivered in English. - We plan to award prizes to the top three winners of the tournament.
HOW WILL THE TOURNAMENT LOOK?
- 11 rounds Swiss system
- Playing time for each player: 3 minutes + 2 seconds after each move
- The order of places will be determined by the sum of points – and in the event of an equal number, by subsidiary criteria in the order: sum of points, Buchholz reduced 1, Buchholz, Sonneborn-Berger, Progress, direct duel, number of victories
