Emergency Medicine Locum Physician

Required Skills:

Valid and active California medical license

Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine within the past 5 years (certifications from ABEM or ABEOM preferred)

Minimum of 2 years of current hospital-based clinical experience in Emergency Medicine

Ability to manage approximately 110 patients in a 24-hour period

Capable of providing detailed case logs for surgical specialties, if applicable

Clear explanation of any employment gaps exceeding 3 months

Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills

Familiarity with hospital protocols and emergency department workflows

Nice to Have

Skills:

Experience with night shifts and high-volume emergency departments

Advanced certifications or additional training in trauma or critical care

Bilingual abilities to serve diverse patient populations

Familiarity with electronic health record systems (EHR)

Preferred

Education and Experience:

MD or DO degree from an accredited institution

1-3 years of recent hospital emergency medicine experience

Certified in ABEM or ABEOM

Other Requirements:

Willingness to work night shifts, with a $25 per hour incentive for confirmed night shift providers

Guarantee of 8 hours per shift, with overtime applying after 12 hours (pre-approved)

Availability beginning June 1, 2026

Ability to meet travel and reimbursement guidelines, including parking and ride shares, as specified

Commitment to maintaining professionalism and adherence to all applicable medical standards
