The Instructional Aide/Behavior Monitor at Alder Grove Charter School plays a crucial role in creating a safe, warm, and inclusive environment for students, parents/guardians, staff, and visitors throughout the school. This person must possess a positive attitude towards children and alternative education and a desire to be part of a cooperative team of alternative educators.
The job consists includes individual and whole-class aide support in both the classroom and study hall setting. It also includes periodically monitoring hallways and the school parking lot. Desirable qualifications include having worked in a public school setting, having basic knowledge of public school policy, having experience with Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) schools, having experience working with students with disabilities and experience as an aide in a school setting.
Must be able to pass a paraprofessional exam, be 18 years of age or older, pass live scan fingerprint clearance and have GED or High school diploma. Applicants must be dependable, have transportation, communicate well, enjoy collaboration and working as a team, and be able to adapt to different learning strategies for students.
